L125 Commercial Noise Barrier Panels
Thickness: 108mm

An all weather acoustic panel designed as a
modular noise barrier system.

Overview
The LF125 noise barrier panels are very versatile in their functionality, they can be used as either a:
1. Single noise barrier wall
2. Two sided noise barrier wall
3. U-Shaped noise barrier
4. Four sided full enclosure
Panels are stacked around the generator to form a modular noise barrier wall according to your needs. Need a bigger enclosure? Simply add more panels.
Easy Access
Where necessary panels can be hinged for access wherever it may be needed for maintenance and refuelling.
No Build Up of Heat
As the top is left open, the heat from the generator rises naturally into the atmosphere, so there is no need for special ventilation. This saves on cost and greatly simplifies the design.
Features & Benefits
Taming a Noisy Heat Pump
We raised 2 panels off the ground to draw cool air in from the bottom
and left open spaces on 2 sides at the top, to allow heat to escape.

Soundproofing a Large Home Generator

The Problem
This generator was positioned in the bottom corner of the owner's property. When the generator ran it caused a noise that was unacceptable for both the owner and the nearby neighbours.
The Solution
✪ We installed 2.4m high LF125 Commercial noise barrier panels on two sides.
✪ We included a large hinged door for access.
✪ On his boundary walls we installed exterior grade sound absorbing panels to mitigate the unwanted reflection of sound.
The Client's Comments
"This noise barrier panels have made a massive difference to the sound. Load shedding is no longer a problem."

3 Key Factors to Remember
You would expect that the type & construction of the noise barrier, would determine the degree of soundproofing which will be achieved but did you know that there are three other very important factors to bear in mind? Work these to your advantage - to achieve the best results.
Proximity of noise source to the noise barrier
+ The height of the noise barrier
= Angle at which sound passes over the barrier
= Sound isolation on the opposite side
Scenario 1
In this 1st scenario the noisy generator is positioned far from the noise barrier. The result is that the angle of direct sound passing over the noise barrier is large. Although the barrier has cut off line of sight between the person and the noisy generator, they are still impacted by indirect sound due to diffraction on the top edge.

Scenario 2
In this 2nd scenario the noisy generator is positioned close to the noise barrier. The result is that the angle of direct sound passing over the noise barrier is small. The barrier has cut off line of sight between the person and the noisy generator. The person is hardly impacted by indirect sound due to diffraction on the top edge.

Therefore to achieve the best results you should:
1. Place the LF125 noise barrier panels in close proximity to the noise source
2. Install the highest possible noise barrier panels
⤝ Standard Size Layouts ⤞
You must have a minimum of 150mm clearance between the generator & the enclosure.
This is important to maintain sufficient airflow around the generator to regulate heat.
